History of the rupee

The word rūpiya is gotten from the Sanskrit word rūpya, which signifies "fashioned silver, a coin of silver",[4] in beginning a descriptor signifying "shapely", with a more explicit significance of "stepped, dazzled", whence "coin". It is' gotten from the thing rūpa "shape, similarity, picture". Rūpaya was utilized to indicate the coin presented by Sher Shah Suri during his rule from 1540 to 1545 CE. The Pakistani rupee was placed into dissemination in Pakistan after the disintegration of the British Raj in 1947. At first, Pakistan utilized British Indian coins and notes just over-stepped with "Pakistan". New coins and banknotes were given in 1948. Like the Indian rupee, it was initially isolated into 16 annas, every one of 4 pice or 12 pie. The money was decimalised on 1 January 1961, with the rupee partitioned into 100 pice, renamed (in English) paise (particular paisa) later that very year. Be that as it may, coins named in paise have not been given beginning around 1994.
